Force operated joystick provides precision and long life

Now available from Aerco is the Model 462 compact, two-axis, force operated joystick control from Ultra MSI that, because of its small size and low weight, is ideal for systems that require precise control and where space is limited. The joystick control, that can take the form of a variety of different shapes and sizes of paddles or knobs, are easily controlled by fingertip or thumb and the force applied is converted, by using patented piezo-resistive technology, to provide an analogue output voltage proportional to this force and input voltage. The use of this technology means that there are no moving parts resulting in high reliability with an MTBF of 100,000 hours.

The Model 462 has a below panel diameter of 9.5mm and depth of 10.9mm and an overall length of 27.9mm without knob and can easily be integrated into instrument panels or thumb operated handgrips and will be ideal for computer cursor controls, robotics, medical surgery equipment, security cameras and vehicle and industrial equipment controls. Versions are available with environmental sealing to IP67.
