The LCB range of linear actuators is the answer to the problem of reducing costs without sacrificing performance and quality. Compact and robust these linear actuators have an external sliding guidance system, with an integrated timing belt drive so making them a low-cost alternative to conventional timing belt versions.
They are low cost to install with very low operating costs due to a long service life and being virtually maintenance-free (except for the guidance system). Changing the replaceable slide can be carried out within a few minutes and due to the low moving mass, energy costs are reduced.
Motion is controlled using modern servo or stepper motor technology, which allows any required position or velocity profile to be achieved and in certain applications the LCB can even compete against expensive linear motor drives.
The clever design produces efficient operation so that even at high speeds these actuators generate very little noise and the slide guidance system is clean and dry so there is no need for lubrication that can attract dust particles.
There are two sizes in the range, the LCB40 is available in up to 2 metres stroke, 160N thrust, payload 1 to 6kg and max speed 8ms/sec, the LCB60 has strokes up to 5.5m, 560N thrust, payload 1 to 30 kg with the same speed as its little brother. They have a high maximum static load-bearing capacity of 1250N and 3850N respectively and both maintain a repeatability of ±0.2mm.
They can be supplied in various forms either just as a component with free shaft end or
fitted with a gearbox, gearbox and servo or stepper motor, or even as a direct-drive servo motor option. Drives and controls are also available to meet most speed and positioning applications. The installation and attachment to a system is simple as the integrated grooves allow for easy assembly. Various accessories are available to mount and to combine LCB modules and there are additional components such as limit switches that can also be fitted with no restrictions on the position along the groove.
