New from B&R: 140kW servomotors and high-reliability process control

B&R Industrial Automation has introduced servo motors with high torque and an extended range of speeds, and releases version 4.0 of its APROL process control system.

These high-efficiency motors in the 8KS series provide up to 140kW of power and offer a stall torque of up to 555Nm. Available in two sizes with speeds up to 3,000rpm, 8KS motors are available with either axial or radial fans, water cooling and optional mounting feet.

The new series come equipped with a resolver interface, an optical encoder with EnDat interface and an embedded parameter chip, ensuring seamless compatibility with ACOPOSmulti drives and easy integration with B&R's entire system components.

Also new from B&R, is release 4.0 of B&R's APROL process control system, which provides maximum protection against system failure.

APROL allows redundant systems to be set up at four different levels: fieldbus networks, controllers, runtime servers and operator stations. If the active system fails, an identical system running in parallel takes over all of its tasks.
