Ultra-compact, all-in-one colour block camera

A new ultra-compact, all-in-one colour camera which supports both video and still images has been added to the FCB Block Camera series from Sony and is now available from Stemmer Imaging.

Incorporating a 1/2.45-type Exmor CMOS sensor and Sony’s original image signal processor, the new FCB-MA130 camera enables users to capture full HD resolution (1080p/30) movies and up to 13Mpixel (4192 x 3104) still images.

Developed from mobile phone camera technology, the FCB-MA130 uses a piezo actuator module for focus over a range of 100mm to 8mm. Both manual focus and a ‘one push’ autofocus are provided. This micro camera measures just 16.5 x 10.3 x 18.0mm meaning it can be used in a wide range of space-restricted applications.

Sony’s original image signal processor provides adaptive tone reproduction for a wide dynamic range, real time embedded image stabilisation and face detection to enable the system to be easily implemented in security and industrial applications.

It also features a range of exposure controls and white balances, 3DNR noise reduction, and a 60 step, 16x digital zoom.
