Pilz Automation Technology is launching PSEN magnetic safety switches that feature an integral cable, sealing to IP69K and Ecolab approvals for resistance to detergents. The switches are therefore ideal for use in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries for position monitoring and machine guards, as well as for applications in which moisture ingress might otherwise cause problems. Furthermore, certain models have ATEX approval (II 3GD Eex nC T6) for use in hazardous areas.
Pilz Automation Technology is expanding its range of PSEN magnetic safety switches by offering devices that feature an integral cable, sealing to IP69K and Ecolab approvals for resistance to detergents.
All of the new switches benefit from a sensing range of 8mm and may be used in safety-related control systems conforming to Category 4 of BS EN 954-1. The integral cables make the switches easier to keep clean in food, beverage or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, and the long sensing range ensures reliable operation, even if the switch and actuator become misaligned due to worn guard hinges or other mechanical components.
Fifteen models of the new PSENmag magnetic switch/actuator are available initially, giving customers a choice of either a 5m or 10m integral cable. These devices can be connected individually or in series via a PSEN interface module.
