Well, in reality, as an experienced installation engineer you may be be right, but surely it’s got to be worth the extra time just to check whether or not it is fit for purpose!

The key to problem-free tubing installations is to check and then check again. Tubing delivers the lifeblood of your compressed air system so it’s important to check.

Use our checklist to ensure peace of mind:

  1. Pressure and temperature requirements
  2. Media suitability
  3. Fittings compatibility
  4. Physical properties i.e. flexibility, kink resistance
  5. Regulatory requirements
  6. Environment resistance
  7. Cost: cheapest is not always the best option It is also worth noting that using tubing and fittings from the same supplier helps with product traceability performance in applications where fit for purpose is a much higher bar than it used to be.
