HBM’s latest multi-channel carrier-frequency amplifier system, the ML455, has excellent measurement properties while suppressing interference, such as voltage ‘noise’, making it ideal for use in electrically demanding environments. The ML455 has a signal bandwidth of up to 1,000 Hz, making it an optimal solution for the measurement of mechanical quantities. Users have the option of configuring transducer channels individually for each sub-channel and the ML455 costs nearly 50 per cent less than competing systems.
Designed for multi-functional use, the ML455 features ease of handling and the TEDS transducer identification, in line with IEEE 1451.4. All commonly used industrial transducers can be easily connected while complex measurement systems can be configured quickly and reliably thanks to the TEDS capability.
By using the ML455 amplifiers with HBM’s matching AP455i and AP455iS6 connection boards, a higher carrier-frequency channel density can be achieved with inductive displacement transducers, linear variable displacement transducers (LVDTs) and strain gage half and full bridge transducers. The scaleable MGCplus amplifier enables each system to be individually configured for wide ranging applications.
Carrier frequency amplifiers offer excellent measurement properties because they suppress interference, such as voltage ‘noise’ from the electrical mains supply. They also eliminate drift effects resulting, for example, from thermal voltages.
