Inelco Hunter is now stocking a series of Fujitsu’s smallest high-speed, battery powered thermal Printer mechanisms with integrated cutter. The FTP 628 (2”) and FTP638 (3”) series printers are targeted towards OEM designs for applications, such as, POS, banking, hand held terminals, ticket dispensing machines, label printers, measuring devices, automotive (taxi-receipt, digital tachometer) and medical diagnostic equipment.
With a 20% saving over its predecessors, these printers offer a low profile footprint 21.8(H) x 81.2(W) x 42.2(D) mm. Lightweight materials and a re-design of the cutting mechanism means the 2-inch version with cutter weighs only 97g.
Operating from a voltage range between 4.2V and 8.5V (peak current 1A) the 628/638 series is capable of a maximum output speed of 60mm (480 dotlines/sec) at 8VDC with 8-dot/mm resolution. Operating life is 100M pulses or 50km of paper.
The printers accommodate paper widths of 58/60mm (2-inch) and 80/82mm (3-inch) with a thickness between 60-100 micrometers. Fujitsu’s unique platen release system gives access to a wide paper path to simplify drop-in loading despite the printers’ compact size.
The die-cast frame has been designed to absorb ESD and provide stability against vibration and shock, with all the component wiring contained in a single flex circuit.
Inelco Hunter also supplies a range of miniature interface boards (Parallel/Serial) along with software to suit the Fujitsu range of thermal printers.
In addition to the range of Fujitsu portable printers, Inelco Hunter also offers a series of Ultra High speed, 24V, low-profile printer mechanisms, which are now faster, quieter and more durable than before.
Manufactured by Fujitsu Components, these “2 & 3” printers are aimed towards the kiosk & gaming markets, retail receipt applications (EFT, CAT, ECR), banking terminal (ATM/CD) and POS systems.
High speed printing of 200mm (1600 dot lines) per sec, a long-life (100km of paper or 100M pulses), and the ability to accommodate a paper thickness range from 60 - 150m make these a truly versatile print solution.
They have an operating voltage of 24V, with a peak current of 3A (@25% printing ratio), and a wide operating temperature range from 0 - 50 deg C. The 629/639 series is available in a number of different models with cutter and ‘easy paper load’ options.
Inelco Hunter offer a standard range of driver boards to accompany all these printers, including serial or USB connections, along with drivers supporting WIN2K/NT/CE.NET and Linux. For higher quantity projects customised boards or chip set solutions are also available.
