High Speed I/O system suits real-time motion control

The Lenze I/O system 1000 is particularly fast with a bandwidth of 48 Mbit/s and a time stamp compatible with high speed machinery and multi-axis motion systems. The range offers compact dimensions, with modules only 12.5mm wide.

There are six bus options to choose from, and powerful modules are available that go far beyond simple analogue and digital I/O.  I/O stations with up to 64 modules can be connected directly to Lenze controllers or be installed remotely.

Bus couplers for the I/O system 1000 are available for Profinet, EtherCAT, CANopen, PROFIBUS, DeviceNet and Modbus TCP. From the bus coupler complete I/O stations can be built up by adding 12.5mm wide modules, all DIN rail mounted and internally connected by a backplane bus.

Up to 64 modules can be added with analogue and digital I/O plus powerful options for relay output, counters, temperature measurement and SSI encoder evaluation.  Where the backplane bus with its integrated 24V supply has insufficient power for larger I/O stations, additional power supply modules can be added. Sensors requiring 24V three wire connection have a 10A supply module available.

The I/O system 1000 was designed with high priority on ease of use.  The two piece stepped design is easy to connect and the electronics can be replaced without disturbing the wiring.  Bright LEDs and clear labelling speed up diagnostics and commissioning.  Mounting of the modules required no tools and can be done either singly or as a complete block.  Also available is an EMC shield which clips easily into the base of the modules.

With baud rates up to 100 Mbit/s, the Lenze I/O system 1000 is suitable for dynamic motion systems such as robotics, packaging machines and others using real-time architectures.
