Hygienic sensing systems from SICK

SICK has extended its range with new Inox and hygienic sensors and mountings that protect against contamination in the most demanding environments. The W4S-3H photoelectric sensor combined with a compact and rugged IP69K housing withstands washdown, cleaning and disinfection regimes.

Hygienic variants of Sick’s Industrial Instrument range of LFP guided radar level probes; LFV tuning forks for level detection, PHT/PBS pressure and THT temperature transmitters have also been launched.

The compatible stainless steel mountings, reflectors, tubes and flanges are quick to install and replace; the ‘turn and click’ connector for the WS4-3H sensor, for example, is resistant to chlorine-based disinfectants, detergents and foam cleaners.

These products feature smooth external housings with no edges, corners or ridges which could attract bacterial build-up or chemical contamination.  Each is designed to enable liquids to run-off slowly, allowing maximum contact with cleaning agents whilst leaving no liquid residue.
