IO-Link SmartLight: the intelligent signal tower from Balluff

The new IO-Link SmartLight from Balluff can be adapted for most applications without resorting to complex hardware configuration. Costly combinations of different coloured modules to form a custom light tower are longer needed.

The device can also be adapted to any task on-the fly via a controller. SmartLight can do more than signal predefined operating states with fixed colours. Trends of physical values can be represented, as can temperature states, fill levels of systems or even the position of a carriage via a position sensor system can be signalled by the light column, which may be up to 20 LEDs tall.

For connection and installation, just one simple, unshielded, three-wire sensor cable is needed. Segment mode with different colour segments, Level Mode colour gradients (for level or temperature values, for example), Running Mode automatic freely configurable foreground and background colour: all these can all be set via the controller.
