XP Power has introduced a compact 150W external power supply for portable equipment that claims best-in-class performance at 5.1W/in3 power density and 88% minimum efficiency. The AML150 is smaller than many lower power units of this type yet needs no internal or external fan to deliver full power at up to 40°C ambient and 60% power at 70°C.
Specifying this 150W unit will often provide the power headroom for designers to make future upgrades to their products without having to change the power supply.
Cool running contributes to reliability of greater than 100,000 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F) and the unit is suited to applications ranging from
automation and industrial control to specialist portable equipment and communication systems.
The power supply has a universal AC input (90 264 VAC) with active PFC to meet EN61000-3-2, -3 and a single output of 12, 15, 19, 20 or 24 VDC. It measures 171 x 72 x 40mm (6.73 x 2.83 x 1.57 inches) and is supplied with a 1800mm (70.8-inch) power cord terminated with a 4-pin DIN plug.
Non-standardoutput voltages and connectors are available. The unit is fitted with an internal 4A fuse and offers overtemperature, overvoltage and overload protection as standard features.
The AML150 meets EN55022 Class B standards for radiated and conducted emissions and has the appropriate EN, UL and CSA safety approvals.
