The powerful ST direct drive torque motor from Micromech has a very high torque to size ratio, has no need for gear reducers and is designed to be incorporated as an integral part of a machine. This packaged low inertia unit is capable of acceleration rates of up to 20,000rads/s/s, is available in 145mm and 190mm frame sizes and can deliver continuous torque from 15Nm to 115Nm.
ST motors offer a continuous torque to weight ratio up to 3Nm/kg and a peak torque-to-weight ratio up to 7Nm/kg. Other key features are options of 60mm or 75mm diameter solid shaft and also hollow versions, and optional resolver or sincos encoder feedback.
