Plastic welding in tight spaces

The new family of Leister plastic hand extruders from Welwyn Tool Group has been extended with the arrival of ‘Fusion 2.0 – a light, compact tool with high output designed especially for precision welding in tight spaces. The Leister Fusion 2.0 is easy to handle, measuring just 450mm in length and weighing 5.9 kg.

This combined with an output of 1.8kg/h, makes it ideal for plastic fabricators needing to perform detailed welding on specialist containers and equipment for industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, automotive, boat-building, as well as for pipe manufacture and landfill site applications where the use of large welding machines would be impracticable.

For a hand extruder of its size, the Fusion 2.0 is incredibly versatile. A 360o rotatable welding shoe enables operators to weld at any angle and to work in both horizontal and vertical directions. As with its bigger brother, Fusion 3.0, the new Fusion 2.0 features a unique built-in cold start facility which automatically disengages the clutch until the plastic reaches optimum temperature for extrusion, thus avoiding human error leading to expensive down-time and repairs.

The Leister Fusion 2.0 – of robust construction for a long service life – has an on-board temperature-controlled pre-heat hot air blower and provides unique twist-free welding for 4mm welding rods.
