XP Power has introduced an external 120W AC/DC power supply that is half the size of competitorofferings and has a power density of 4.9W/in3. With a typical efficiency of 86% at full load and an extended operating temperature of 0 °C to +70 °C, the AML120 is convection cooled and needs no internal fan. This contributes to its compact size of 167 x 65 x 37 mm,eliminates noise and improves reliability.
The power supply has a90-264VAC universal input and meets EN61000-3-2, -3. AC input is via astandard IEC 320/C6 inlet, with the output using a 4-pin DIN connector,although non-standard connectors are available for quantities as low as100 pieces. Automatic overvoltage, overcurrent and short circuitprotection are all standard features.
Nine standard, single-outputvoltages between 12VDC and 48VDC are offered, each with total regulation of ±5%. Total regulation includes initial set accuracy andline/load regulation. Ripple and noise are within 2% peak-to-peak. The AML120 meets all major safety and EMC specifications, including EN55022/FCC/VCCI Class B for both radiated and conducted emissions. MTBF is greater than 100,000 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F).
