LED lighting in industry gathers momentum

LED technology is used to illuminate machine tools, workstations and operator assembly areas, replacing  traditional halogen lamps and fluorescent lighting.

IDEC was early to this market, first introducing its LF1A series (IP54) back in 2009 for light industrial applications. Since then the company has developed a comprehensive family of LED industrial lighting systems.

Today, with over seven distinctly different styles - some models offering six different colours - you can be certain IDEC has the right solution for you.

The most recent addition to this family is the new LF1B-N series (illustrated), boasting the most variation in terms of colour and length, and protected to IP65. The unit is also compact being only 27.5mm wide by 16mm high, allowing installation in the narrowest of spaces.

When it comes to length there are six to choose from, ranging from 134mm to 1,084mm. The six colours are:

Red (handling of photo-sensitive material; darkroom illumination; semiconductor manufacturing)
Yellow (IC foundries; semiconductor manufacturing)
Warm White (food processing machinery and inspection; cosmetic manufacturing plant; chemical plant)
Cool white (machine tool lighting; inspection & test machines; control panel lighting)

The blue and green variants can be used in more aesthetic lighting applications such as show cases.
