2U VME64x system allows horizontal board mounting

Pentair Equipment Protection has introduced a new Schroff VME64x system that has been designed for horizontal mounting of boards, thereby enabling a high level of functionality to be accommodated within a 19in chassis measuring just 2U in height.

Fully compliant with the VITA 1.1-1997 specification, the system incorporates a 4-slot 6U VME64x backplane and both front and rear card cages with guide rails for four VME64x 6U boards (160mm deep at the front and 80mm deep at the rear).

The system’s power backplane has two P47 connectors, ready for the installation of two 250W plug-in PSUs, and a power input module provides IEC 320-C14 connector, switch, filter and fuses.

Completing the system is a hot-swap fan tray equipped with two 12VDC fans and a fan-monitor module for active cooling of the boards and power supplies.

Housed in a shielded steel subrack, the VME64x system satisfies the requirements of EMC standards EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-3 and is finished in RAL 9005 black powder-coat paint.
