The versatility of the system is based on the facility to fit a wide range of detectors including NIR (near infra-red), CCD linear camera, X-ray scanner, multi-segment metal detection coil and segmented single-face metal detector in any combination.
The advantage of a combination of detectors is that it allows a single machine to sort and separate a wide variety of input streams. The input feed to the system is a high speed conveyor on which the material is spread evenly with individual items singled out before reaching the detector stage.
The detector array provides data for the bespoke analysis software, running on an industrial PC, which determines the position of each piece of unwanted material and triggers the precision ejection nozzles at exactly the right time to blow out the contaminant with the minimum loss of the required good material or interruption of the material flow.
The modular design of the VARISORT uses an integrated motor/gearbox drive and precision air injection nozzles to ensure system dependability, minimise maintenance costs and facilitate a wide range of needs to be met economically.
