A Low Cost Alternative To Ball Screws

Normal split nut designs, comprising a loaded spring between the two halves, eliminate backlash but at the expense of high drag torque and lower thresholds where axial stiffness can be maintained. New to Abssac's rolled acme screw product portfolio is Active-Cam, a cross-cam configuration system that eliminates these problems, at the same time providing a low cost replacement for ball screws. The new nut designs can be attached to the application via the integral flange mounted style nut 'XCF' or by the thread mounted version 'XCT', and are available in a range of diameters from 4 to 16mm, combined with a range of leads in each diameter.
