A new helical flexure from Abssac provides a novel U-joint solution that
can accommodate up to 90o of angular misalignment while simultaneously
compensating for axial and parallel shaft misalignments - all from a
one-piece construction. The performance is determined by the flexure
inside and outside diameters, coil thickness, material, the number of
coils and number of starts. Altering these modifies the torque capacity,
angular and parallel misalignment capabilities, torsional and lateral
bending rates. The couplings are available in aluminium alloy or
stainless steel, in both imperial and metric bore sizes.
