Customers calling for a ring track system that is man enough to carry substantial loads has led HepcoMotion to develop further its proven ring track and heavy duty systems and introduce the new HDRT Heavy Duty Ring Slide and Track System.
This is believed to be the only ring system available for arduous linear motion with an ability to support loads up to 40kN. In addition to its high capacity the product programme has been designed to include a very large module integral gear providing a highly efficient driving mechanism.
This latest addition combines the flexibility and function of the popular HepcoMotion PRT ring track system with the size and strength of its HDS heavy-duty slide system. Internal and external V rings are available in seven sizes up to 1800mm in diameter and in two precision grades plus stainless steel. These are compatible with three sizes of bearings and two lubricators for increased load and life.
Gear cut rings and compatible pinions may also be specified. Double edged ring segments combine with straight sides enabling curved paths or closed circuits to be created with ease. Both left and right hand bends can be accommodated depending on the carriage selected.
A gear drive option is available where teeth are machined into the external register of the slide ring. MOD 4 teeth are standard with other sizes available on request. HDRT track systems are slides from the proven HDS range matched and modified for track applications.
They are supplied complete with back plates and joint blocks according to the system layout unless otherwise specified. Slides up to 4m are made in one piece and unlimited lengths can be achieved by butting.Two types of carriage are available with this new system.
The fixed centre version is for use on track systems with unidirectional bends of common radii and on double-edged rings and segments; special length carriages can also be supplied. A further option is a corrosion resistant carriage.
For tracks with 'S' bends or bends with different radii HepcoMotion offer a bogie carriage. Each bogie swivels on a special play-free axial/radial ball bearing that is lubricated for life. Carriage plates and bogie swivel plates are made from high strength aluminium alloy and are supplied assembled and adjusted to suit the track.
Both types of carriage are available in two standard sizes with either 64mm diameter or 95mm diameter bearings; a 120mm diameter higher load version can be supplied to order. All use double row ball bearings and provide a high axial and radial load capacity.
Each bearing has a chemically blackened, high tensile strength steel screw and bush that makes installation simple, accurate and free from play.
Available in either concentric or adjustable eccentric forms the bearings are supplied blind or with through-hole fixing; stainless steel is a further bearing option.
In common with all HepcoMotion track systems, HDRT is supplied in sections ready for installation marked with system reference and sequence numbers.
Driven pallet systems for engines, spool-handling units, turbines handling fixtures and transfer units for paper rolls are typical applications that will benefit from this latest HepcoMotion introduction.
