igus goes onwards and upwards with liftband

e-chain specialist igus has developed a new cable carrier concept that can safely guide media including, power, data and air upwards. liftband was inspired by a real customer application that needed a safe system to carry energy supplies to their machine vertically but had very limited installation space. With the new liftband e-chain system, you can now do this very easily.

The system can achieve heights of up to five meters but the actual installation area is flat; in fact only the space and height of the recoiled cables is required.

Like all igus products, it’s very simple to install and is modular. The new cable management system consists of a variety of frames that can be “mixed and matched” to suit the application requirements. Each component type can be clipped into the specially designed strain relieving mounting bracket with ease, so it is very simple for the customer to press fit, lock in, or adjust the height of the cables. The chain consists of a new style frame, rather than a standard chain link, and as a result, there is almost no friction, noise and the cable bending radius has little limitation too.

All igus products carry the “fit and forget” guarantee because they are tested for millions of cycles in the igus testing laboratory and real life applications. In addition to this, they are made from specially formulated triboplastics that have long life.
