Latest Modular Amplifier Simplifies Industrial Automation

HBM has launched the digiCLIP product family to simplify automation tasks in industrial environments and for monitoring manufacturing processes such as in automotive manufacturing, textile machines, printing machinery, or energy recovery installations.

DigiCLIP uses interference-proof and stable measurement techniques enabling the carrier frequency modules to measure quantities such as force, strain, torque, and pressure easily, accurately and with high reliability.

A maximum of 99 digiCLIP modules can be combined by just clipping them together.DigiCLIP's internal digital signal processor (DSP) computes and combines the measurement signal within milliseconds to provide practical parameters such as limit and instantaneous values or peak values.

This powerful, self-monitoring signal conditioning reduces reliance on connected automation systems further simplifying accurate measurement. Based on an innovative, modular amplifier system, digiCLIP uses TEDS technology enabling users to adapt sensors easily and quickly.

Each module features Plug and Measure so that measurements can be taken immediately the module address has been adjusted. DigiCLIP is supplied with free setup software providing a graphical user interface for easily setting up individual modules.

Each digiCLIP module uses a CANbus or ProfibusDP interface to enable a distributed system to be easily implemented. All conditioned signals and functions are transmitted via these universal standard interfaces for further processing.
