Cognex Announces High-Performance Ocvsoftware For Pc Vision Systems

Cognex, the world's leading supplier of machine vision systems, today announced OCVMaxTM, a breakthrough in character verification technology that allows text to be verified, even when printed on curved or flexible surfaces or distorted during the printing or packaging process.

When print is difficult to recognize, OCVMax enables manufacturers to ensure the right date, lot or product code is printed, the right labels are placed onto the right products, and the right product is placed into a carton or box.

Because of its ability to recognize distorted text, OCVMax minimizes false rejects and eliminates costly operator intervention while ensuring information is correctly printed onto pharmaceutical, food, beverage, and personal care product labels and packages, said Marilyn Matz, Cognex Co-founder and Senior VP PC Vision. OCVMax is also easy to set up because it comes pre-configured to handle a wide range of printer fonts.

OCVMax is available as an option on any Cognex VisionPro(r) PC vision system, and can be combined with other Cognex code reading and inspection tools to provide a complete solution for virtually any packaging application.
