When launching the product onto the market, Bollhoff's UK Managing Director Andy Witts is quoted as saying, "Our new RIVNUT® HRT product range uses advanced materials and processes to produce an enhanced, stronger thread, which significantly increases the mechanical performance of the blind rivet nut".
He went on to say "Reduced dimensions and weight savings are additional benefits to the user - as in a typical 35kN joint, where a grade 8.8 bolt and corresponding nut are replaced by M8 RIVNUT® HRT with a mating 12.9 grade screw. Or indeed, by replacing an hexagonal M6 nut with a RIVNUT® HRT compatible with a grade 8 .8screw, a weight reduction of 63% can be achieved".
RIVNUT® HRT is available in Steel from M6 to M12, with screw grades of 10.9 or 12.9, or in Aluminium M6 and M8, with 8.8 grade screws, for high performance, corrosion resistant and lightweight assemblies.In common with all RIVNUT® products, these new fasteners can be installed from one side of the workpiece, through a pre-prepared hole in sheet metal or hollow sections.
