Come and see the future of electrical design automation

The Machine Building 2007 exhibition takes place at the NEC on February 14 and 15. You can pre-register for this event at www.machinebuilding.co.uk

Rittal plans to demonstrate its latest electrical design automation software, Eplan Electric P8. This modular platform offers the latest in computer-aided engineering, and supports migration from Eplan 5 and Eplan 21. The P8 release is also a first for Eplan, as it enables all three electrical, fluid and instrumentation applications to communicate directly with one another.

Electric P8 now offers macro variant technology, which lets the user insert sections of circuits (the macros) with up to eight graphical variants containing pre-engineered data. The macros are easily administered, and with new projects, you don’t have to modify and re-dimension circuits.

The new software allows last minute changes by simply selecting the suitable variant rather than having to redesign. Workgroup engineering with P8 supports working across networks at different sites; any number of users can work on a project simultaneously and view changes made by their colleagues in real time.
As well as supporting both graphical and object oriented approaches, the platform also includes a graphical editor for wiring schematics, online foreign language translation and a revision management system.
