New servo controller is compact and fast

The Machine Building 2007 exhibition takes place at the NEC on February 14 and 15. You can pre-register for this event at www.machinebuilding.co.uk

Mitsubishi Electric’s exhibit will have the new MR-J3 ac servo controller and servomotor package centre stage. About 40% smaller than its predecessor, machine builders will warm to the performance of the new controller, which has a speed frequency response of 900Hz, loop updates measured in microseconds and an extraordinary 0.01um accuracy, thanks to very high resolution encoders on the new motor range. Additional sophistication includes auto-tune and a novel automatic resonance-suppression feature that improves accuracy by damping spurious system vibrations.

Also showing this year will be Mitsubishi’s new Projxstudio management tool, which provides a management level overview of complex MELSoft automation applications. The software enables system designers to gain access to the associated codes and programming tools of various elements within a control scheme, such as SCADA, HMIs and PLCs, presenting a graphical overview of the entire scheme for management and development purposes.
