Michell to launch new version of its low-cost dew point transmitter range

Readers are reminded that the popular sensors, measurement and instrumentation exhibition, mtec, takes place at the NEC on February 14 and 15 2007. You can pre-register for this event at www.mtecexhibition.co.uk

Michell Instruments will be showing off its new Easidew 2-Wire transmitter, a low cost, rugged impedance dew point transmitter for continuous measurement of moisture in compressed air or process gas. Based on Michell’s successful Easidew series, the new instrument offers a number of improved features, including a configurable output in ppm moisture content. In addition, its can be connected in a 2-Wire loop configuration, while maintaining complete backwards compatibility with existing 3-Wire installations. Michell says that the new product makes dew point measurement as accessible as temperature of pressure sensing.

The key to Easidew’s performance is its sensor technology – advanced ceramic moisture sensing coupled with microprocessor based measurement circuitry, which provides a fully calibrated and interchangeable sensor transmitter. All calibration data is stored within flash memory, so calibration exchange or service can be accomplished in seconds, by untrained staff. Only periodic re-certification is required to maintain traceability, and Michell will even provide an exchange unit for this purpose so that the process is never out of operation.
