Pre-load spring solves camera focus problem

When CCTV camera manufacturer, Grandeye needed a spring for the focussing mechanism of its new Halocam 360° security camera it turned to TFC, as Brian Goode, TFC's technical director explains. "Grandeye wanted a spring which collapsed down to a very shallow height, to fit into an existing product with minimal design changes."

The chosen product, a Smalley pre-load spring, is positioned within the focus mechanism to pre-load the components and eliminate tolerance build up caused by a screw thread. This dramatically reduced installation time while improving the set-up procedure for the camera, allowing the initial batch of Halocams to be delivered well within Grandeye's time frame.
