Heidenhain introduces ‘low end’ linear encoder

Heidenhain has introduced a ‘low-end’ linear encoder to complement its existing range of ‘high-end’ encoders. The LIDA 200 is an exposed linear encoder with a grating period of 200μm. The scale tape is read by a scanning head using the single-field scanning method, and achieves an accuracy of ±30μm.
