Low-cost servo drive has functionality of a more expensive, high-end unit

Measuring just 55 x 160 x 120mm LTi's CDF3000 low-cost servo drive is now available in the UK from Motor Technology. Offering the functionality of a more expensive, high-end drive, the CDF3000 operates from a 24 or 48V dc supply, features a robust mechanical design, CANopen DSP 402 integration, plus safe standstill in accordance with IEC 954-1 category 3, with integrated safety relay. It can run synchronous, asynchronous and dc motors and is resolver and SSI absolute encoder compatible.

Additional key features includes, evaluation of two encoders, evaluation of multi-turn encoders, sequenced positioning tasks, PLCmotion functionality, Cam-switching group and online position profile generator.

According to Motor Technology's managing director, Andrew Fallows, 'The CDF3000 is a bit like a buying a basic car but getting the top-of-the-range-model. It's a small, low-cost drive suitable for highly demanding automation applications.'
