Vacon has introduced a compact version of its NXL ac drives platform. Fully EMC compliant, the unit can be installed on a wall without additional cabinets as the RFI filter and ac choke are integrated within its IP21 or IP54 rated enclosure. Available up to 30kW (400V), the compact NXL is suitable for a range of applications, from simple fan control to versatile machine control including PLC functions.
The standard control I/O can be extended with two option boards, enabling additional relay outputs, sensor inputs or fieldbus interfaces to be included in the drive package. Typically, only four steps are required to set up the unit: activating the Start-up Wizard, selecting the mode, tuning the motor nominal speed and tuning the motor nominal current.
