'Penny' motors are just 2mm thick

Ultra-flat 'penny' motors from Faulhaber are no more than 2mm thick yet, depending on the model, are capable of continuous operation at speeds as high as 60,000rpm. Available in the UK from EMS, there are two basic models: Series 1202 BH which is 2mm thick and develops a maximum torque of 0.07mNm, and an even smaller Series 1202 BS, which is just 1.83mm thick and develops a maximum torque of 0.05mNm. Both series can be supplied in autoclavable and vacuum-rated versions for medical and similar applications, as well as in standard versions for more general use.
