Leuze Electronic has launched what it believe is the first range of safety light curtains and scanners to incorporate ProfiSafe capability as an integral part of their design. The COMPACTplus range of light curtains is available with 14mm and 30mm resolutions for horizontal safeguarding of danger zones. It also offers 50mm and 90mm resolutions and there are light grids for perimeter guarding in 2-, 3- and 4-beam configurations. The safety light curtain also supports a wide range of scanning distances - up to 6m for the 14mm resolution, 18m for the 30mm, 50mm and 90mm resolution models and 60m for the 2-, 3- and 4- beam light grids. Meanwhile, the RS4 ProfiSafe laser scanner offers 190 degree, two-dimensional scanning, with four programmable pairs of protective fields.
