Rail-mounting single-pole and two-pole relay interface modules

Finder's new 4C is a series of single-pole and two-pole relay interface modules that incorporate Finder's flagship 46 Series miniature industrial relays. Available in either screw terminal or screw-less socket types, the modules provide an interface between PLCs (or other electronic controller) and external actuators or switching devices. They are suitable for applications where the outputs may be required to switch higher than normal external loads, such as large contactors, solenoids, small motors or heating elements.

Miniaturisation of electronic controllers with higher density outputs is imposing current limitations on the controllers' integral common connected output devices, which in turn restricts their ability to directly switch the heavier loads imposed by actuators, motors, etc. A relay interface module such as the 4C Series can be used as a slave switching device to overcome this problem. The modules incorporate a relay, socket, retaining/release clip, indication and suppression module and marking tag all under a single part number, which provides for simplified ordering and stock control.

Four models, offering a range of voltages, switching currents and terminal formats, are available with either ac or dc coils, and can be mounted on a 35mm DIN rail (EN 50022). They feature a plastic retaining clip that facilitates the easy ejection of the relay from the socket, even where components are tightly packed on a DIN rail. They also include, as standard, both a supply status LED indicator and a coil suppression module to protect the controller outputs.
