With a diameter of just 13mm, the absolute Vert-X 13 angle sensor from Variohm is compact enough to fit in the tightest of spaces. The sensor, based on a magnetic, contact-free measuring principle, is suitable for detecting the angles of swinging and gripper arms or for precisely measuring camera positions. It also offers long life, even in the most demanding environments, thanks to a stainless steel case and shaft, and precision ball bearings. The contact-free, magnetic absolute measurement system allows customer-specific measurement angles of up to 360o, and delivers up to 14-bit resolution across the entire measurement range with a repeatability of 0.1o.
The Vert-X 13 offers several configuration possibilities. Options include ratiometric (analogue) voltage output, an incremental output signal (A,B,Z), a serial SSI or SPI interface and a PWM interface. Environmental protection up to IP67 can be provided, and additional flexibility is available in the output shaft configuration and connector variants. Customers can specify the measurement angles and choose between rising and falling signals.
