Plastic welding in tight spaces

The new family of Leister plastic hand extruders from Welwyn Tool Group has been extended with the arrival of Fusion 2.0, a light, compact tool with high output designed especially for precision welding in tight spaces. The new tool is easy to handle, measuring just 450mm in length and weighing 5.9 kg. This, combined with an output of 1.8kg/h, makes it ideal for plastic fabricators needing to perform detailed welding on specialist containers and equipment where the use of large welding machines would be impracticable.

For a hand extruder of its size, the Fusion 2.0 is very versatile. A 360 degree rotating welding shoe enables operators to weld at any angle and to work in both horizontal and vertical directions. As with its bigger brother, Fusion 3.0, the new Fusion 2.0 features a built-in cold start facility which automatically disengages the clutch until the plastic reaches optimum temperature for extrusion, thus avoiding human error and subsequent rejects.
