Mitsubishi has added 15 new sizes at the top end of its F700 series ac drives range, extending the power capacity of the product to 530kW. F700 drives feature optimum excitation control and torque patterns, allowing them to maximise their energy efficiency regardless of load conditions.
This is particularly useful for applications, such as those in the process industry, where the load on the drive may change, for example, due to changes in viscosity of a mixed product. The F700 detects the change in load profile, instantaneously altering its settings to maintain energy efficient operation.
Mitsubishi believes this constant energy optimisation can save an additional 12% in energy usage compared with other drives of similar capacity. The actual energy savings can be monitored from the front panel of the drive, expressed as a percentage or cumulative energy savings in kWh, or even in terms of local currency.
