Energy Chains travel longer without guide troughs

Igus' Auto-Glide trough-less cable carrier system is now suitable for long travels. The new Energy Chain system is equipped with a positioning guide and floor bumpers to keep it in line and prevent the top of the chain from derailing.

The positioning guide is attached to the moving portion of the Energy Chain, approximately three feet in from the end point. It fits snugly on the side of the chain and ensures it will retain proper alignment. The new floor bumpers are circular in design and placed at intervals along the length of the chain to prevent any misalignment. With Auto-Glide, Energy Chains can maintain travel lengths up to 100m without a guide trough, and attain speeds of up to 4.9m/s.

Auto-Glide has ribs along the inner radius of the carrier, which interlock to create low-friction guide channels. Virtually any application using guide troughs in a relatively clean environment can employ an Auto-Glide system, which is available in a wide variety of inner widths and in multiple configurations.
