Magnetic Coupling Smooths Out The Ripples

BSL's Rex MagneLink drive coupling comprises two separated hubs: one containing a permanent magnet rotor, the other a conductor; both are separated by a 1/8in air gap. This arrangement ensures that motor and load are decoupled and that the driven shafts are isolated from one another, thus protecting connected equipment from any over-torque condition or excessive vibration. The coupling also provides soft start/stop, enabling drive train selection to be based on operating, not starting torque. The hub design allows many shaft types and sizes to be accommodated, and enables different driver/driven shaft diameters to be implemented on certain sizes.
