Drives & Controls 99 - New Control Platform For The Smaller System

Drives & Controls '99 - New control platform for the smaller system Here's just a foretaste of what you will able to see at this year's Drives & Controls show, located once more at the Telford Exhibition Centre - and rapidly outgrowing that venue, judging by the size of the exhibitor list. The show runs from 16 to 18 March and there is much to see. Make a date in your diaries! Rockwell Automation will introduce a new controller platform for systems in the 24 to 128 I/O range. MicroLogix 1500 is essentially a micro PLC that can be programmed via Rockwell's own RSLogix 500 software. The new product shares many of the features of the well-established SLC 500, including the same programming environment and instruction set. Just the right amount of I/O can be selected to fit the application and the 'rack-less' design ensures that the minimum of panel space is required. Functions include real time clock, 32-bit signed integer maths, enhanced high speed inputs and outputs, trim potentiometers and more than 7kbyte of configurable memory.
