Compact Read-Heads Expand Possibilities For Encoder System

Renishaw's RG2 open, non-contact, linear encoder system has a new range of compact read-heads. The RGH24 and RGH 25 series complement the existing RGH22 and provide precision position feedback, offering resolutions from 5.0 micron to 0.1 micron, speeds up to 5m/splus industry standard outputs. With a body size of 15mm x 36mm x 14.3mm, the RGH24 is less than half the size of the RGH22, yet it has all of the latter's digital and analogue outputs. It is available with 1.5m of double-screened, eight-core cable, or in component for with 10-way JST connector. Even smaller, the RGH25 is suitable for microscopes and tiny linear actuators. A special version can also be supplied for use in ultra high vacuum environments.
