For such a small inverter, the new palm-sized Jaguar Cub from IMO
Precision Controls packs a good number of sophisticated features,
providing a level of functionality and performance that you might expect
from a drive taking up rather more panel space. Available in ratings from
0.4kW through 2.2kW (single-phase/220V) and 0.4kW to 4kW
(three-phase/400V), this little drive has a simplified, easy-to-set-up
version of the Jaguar torque-vector control algorithm (STV), which boosts
its performance beyond that of similarly sized, competitive products.
Indeed, at 5Hz the start-up torque can be 150% or more.
Other key features include an integral condition monitoring feature
(maximum current, capacitor condition and heat sink temperature) with
'service due' indication; input and output phase loss protection;
integral brake resistor (1.5kW and above); 'true' analogue outputs that
require no smoothing; motor slip compensation; PID control loop
functions; parameter cloning; integral 24V dc power supply; long-life
cooling fan (60,000 hours), and 400Hz operation for high-speed spindle
applications.
