'Silent' brake motors from Mayr Transmissions

Mayr Transmissions, through its joint venture with Gamak Motors UK, is now able to supply complete brake-motor assemblies in sizes ranging from IEC 71 through to IEC 132 frame. The ‘silent’ <50dB(A) double braked motors have been designed with the stage and theatre industry in mind but are perfect for any lifting or winching application where double security and low operating noise is required.

Motors can be either flange or foot mounted and be fitted with either single or double brakes, all of which are available with a wide variety of options such as hand releases, wear/release monitoring switches, encoder shafts and the full range of coil voltages.

Smaller motors (up to 1.5Kw 90 Frame) can be supplied with Mayr’s new ROBA-secustop brakes, whilst larger motors are supplied with the industry standard ROBA-stop-silenzio brakes.

Both brake types are approved for EN81 and BGV C1 applications and feature Mayr’s noise damping technology ensuring consistently quiet switching.

Mayr will be displaying the brake motors at the forthcoming ABTT show (June 15-16 2011) at London’s Royal Horticultural Halls along with other products from their wide range of torque limiters, shaft couplings and safety brakes.
