Magnomatics appoints former Rolls-Royce man as chairman

Magnomatics, the Sheffield based company specialising in the development of novel contact-less magnetic transmissions, has appointed the former president of Rolls Royce Gas Turbine Operations, Michael Lloyd (pictured), as chairman. Dr Lloyd has extensive knowledge of the industrial sector, as well as considerable experience in the defence, nuclear and aerospace sectors, all of which are important markets for Magnomatics.

Dr Lloyd is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineers. He is also an industrial adviser to Unipart and a non-executive director of the Office of Rail Regulation.
