Wyko's bearing division, SRB has built ten of the largest split roller
bearings it has ever made. Weighing over two tonnes apiece, they will be
used to support the drive shaft of a pump in an aluminium processing
plant. The bearings incorporate profiled rollers that minimise edge
loading under dynamic misalignment conditions, preventing damage to the
raceways. The exceptionally large cast iron supports are designed to take
an upward load on each bearing of around 60 tonnes.
