Modular wiring and control for conveyor belt systems
Wieland Electric’s ‘podis CON’ cabling and ‘podis Drive’ motor starter
systems have been developed specifically for automated conveyor belts.
The cabling product combines three-phase power and fieldbus in a single
flat cable, thus saving on costs and installation time. The 2.5mm2 cable
is connected to the power and fieldbus via an outlet box and then looped
around the machine; new connections are added along the cable using fixed
and plug-type outlet boxes, which utilise ‘piercing’ technology. The
motor starters, meanwhile, are available in three variants:
direct-online, reversing and inverter. Their modular electronics eases
maintenance and keeps downtime to a minimum.
