Twin Line is SIG Positec's latest offering for position control system
integrators, offering both stepper motor and ac synchronous servomotor
driving capabilities between 350W and 8kW, in just one product family. In
Twin Line, customers get all they need to implement a position control
system, including controller, power drive and motor (stepper or servo),
plus a software interface for programming. The system is both modular and
open, allowing users to build up their installations as needs dictate,
and integrate them into existing control strategies and fieldbus networks.
The Windows 95/NT based programming software provides a wide range of
functions, including operation, parameter assignment and diagnostics, and
a start-up wizard is provided to guide the user through the initial
set-up stages. The company has also introduced a positioning drive that
takes full advantage of the decentralised intelligence available via
fieldbus networks. The integrated closed loop actuator - or IclA -
comprises a brushless dc motor, encoder, power stage, controller and bus
system all in a single unit.
