maxon introduces latest addition to micro drive range

maxon motor's new EC 8 8mm motor offers continuous torque of up to 0.95mNm, nominal speeds of 80,000rpm and an efficiency of 70%. The ISO 13485 compliant motor features a one-piece motor/gear and shaft/pinion combination, improving strength and reliability. The 2W unit is available with 6V, 12V or 24V windings, with or without Hall sensors.

Thanks to maxon’s modular approach, the EC 8 can be easily combined with the matching GP 8A planetary gearhead, whilst compatibility with the controllers DEC 24/1, DEC Module 24/2 and DECS 50/5 is guaranteed. The motor is suitable for a variety of medical applications, including sampling robots, insulin pumps, portable analyzers, collimators and surgical microscopes.
