The TEX and LWX series linear position sensors from Variohm-Eurosensor
feature an internal bladder arrangement that prevents moisture and other
contaminants from reaching the resistance track and wiper. This sealing
method ensures IP67 level protection, even when the transducer is in
motion, allowing the units to be used in harsh environments without
additional protection.
Both models are basically conductive plastic potentiometers, providing a
temperature-stable analogue output. They offer high resolution and
repeatability in the region of 0.01mm, and are suitable for applications
involving some form of 'teach-in' setting procedure. Life expectancy is
greater than 20 million cycles, which is likely to exceed the service
life of the machines to which they are fitted.
